What AI visibility monitoring costs for a mid-sized SaaS company

How AI visibility monitoring is priced, what the pricing pages of four tools state on the date we read them, what drives the cost, and where agency work fits.

Key takeaways

  • Tools price by how much you ask: the questions you track, the assistants you cover and how often. Your cost follows the size of your question set, not the size of your company.
  • Every third-party price below is stated on that company's own pricing page, with the date we read it. Where a page states no price, we say so and do not estimate one.
  • A tool measures. The work that changes the answers is a separate cost, done by your team or by an agency.

A marketing lead at a mid-sized SaaS company usually asks the same thing first: what will this cost, and what do we get for it? The honest answer starts with how the work is priced, because that decides what you pay for.

This guide sets out the pricing structures, then what four tools' own pricing pages say on the day we read them, then where agency work fits, including ours.

How the pricing works

Measuring AI visibility means asking AI assistants your buyer questions, again and again, and counting what comes back. Cost follows from how much asking you do.

The pricing pages below describe their plans by the same few things:

  • Prompts. The number of buyer questions the tool tracks for you.
  • Assistants. How many AI platforms those questions are asked on.
  • Frequency or volume. How often each question is asked, or how many answers are collected in a month.
  • Brands, projects and seats. How many brands or projects you can track, and how many people can log in.

A tool that tracks 50 questions on 3 assistants every day collects 50 times 3 times 30, which is 4,500 answers a month. The same questions asked weekly collect far fewer. When you compare two prices, compare what each one tracks, not the headline figure.

What four tools' own pricing pages state

The lines below say only what each company's own pricing page states, on the date shown. They are not a ranking, nothing here says one is better than another, and prices change, so check the page itself before you decide. The currency is the one each page uses.

Peec AIMeasurement tool

Its pricing page lists three monthly plans, Starter, Pro and Advanced, which include 50, 150 and 350 prompts, a choice of 3 models, unlimited users and daily tracking, and an Enterprise plan on custom annual terms through its sales team. The page text we read states no price figure for the monthly plans, so none is given here.

ProfoundMeasurement tool

Its pricing page lists a free Trial, with 50 prompts run daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and an Enterprise plan with tailored packages and a tailored prompt tracking plan. It states no price for Enterprise and directs you to a demo, so the price is on request.

ScrunchMeasurement tool

Its pricing page lists a Core plan at $250 a month, with 125 unique prompts, 5,000 responses a month, 4 supported models, 5 user licences and a 7 day free trial, and an Enterprise plan with a custom number of prompts and responses, for which you contact the company.

Ahrefs Brand RadarMeasurement tool

Its Brand Radar page says custom prompts are free for every paid Ahrefs Lite plan and above, and start at €47 a month on their own. It says its AI Visibility Index starts at €179 a month.

Read the four together and the pattern is plain. Entry plans track tens or a few hundred questions. Larger sets, more assistants and more brands move you to a custom or enterprise plan, where the price is agreed with the company.

What drives the cost

Four things move the price, whichever tool or agency you use.

  1. The size of the question set. A set that covers the whole buying journey, including questions that name no company, is larger than one that checks your brand name. Measuring the right questions costs more than measuring few.
  2. The number of assistants. Each assistant is its own series, so each one multiplies the answers collected.
  3. Repetition. An answer changes from one run to the next, so each question needs asking more than once. Reading an AI visibility figure honestly explains why one answer is not a measurement.
  4. The number of brands. Tracking competitors alongside you adds to the set, and some plans limit how many you can track.

Building a buyer-question set shows how to size a set before you shop, which is the single most useful thing to do first.

Tools measure, agencies do the work

A measurement tool tells you where you stand. It does not write the page, earn the source or fix the technical problem behind a lost answer. That work costs separately, in your own team's time or in an agency's fee, and our own agency work is priced by scope rather than by the prompt.

Some teams use a tool and do the work themselves. Some use an agency for both. The sensible way to compare is to ask each option the same two questions: what exactly is measured, and who does the work that follows.

Where Answer Position fits

Answer Position is one option, and it is an agency rather than a software tool. It is a UK agency for B2B technology brands, serving UK and EMEA vendors. Its prices are in pounds sterling and exclude VAT, and are set by scope. The three most relevant to this question:

  • Snapshot, £995. A one-off read: 30 to 50 buyer questions across three AI assistants, set against three competitors, with a standard report and a walkthrough. It suits a team that wants to see where it stands before committing to anything.
  • Audit, From £4,500. A one-off baseline: a larger question set, observed answers, an analysis of citations and recommendations, a map of the evidence gaps and a prioritised plan. It suits a team that wants the full picture and a plan.
  • Monitor, £595 a month, minimum 3 months. Measurement every month: 50 buyer questions tracked and a monthly report with the five actions that matter most. It suits a team that has a baseline and wants to keep watch on the same questions.

The full ladder, including the monthly work done for you, is on our services page. A free diagnostic looks at one question first.

What to do first

Write down the buyer questions you would want measured, and count them. Multiply by the number of assistants you care about and by how often you would ask. That gives you the size of the job, which you can then hold against each pricing page above. If the number is small, a tool's entry plan may be enough. If it is large, or you want the work done as well as measured, ask for a scoped price.

Questions about the cost of AI visibility monitoring

How much does AI visibility monitoring cost for a mid-sized SaaS company?
It depends on the size of your question set, not the size of your company. The tools we read price by the prompts tracked, the assistants covered and how many answers are collected, so a small set on a few assistants sits on an entry plan and a large set moves to a custom plan. The guide gives each tool its own pricing page and the date we read it.
What drives the price of an AI visibility tool?
Four things: how many buyer questions you track, how many assistants each one is asked on, how often each is repeated, and how many brands or projects you track. More of any of them means more answers collected, and so a higher plan.
Do all the tools publish their prices?
No. Some pricing pages state a monthly figure for entry plans and ask you to contact the company for larger ones, and some state no figure at all. Where a page states none, the guide says the price is on request and gives no estimate.
Is a monitoring tool enough on its own?
A tool measures where you stand. It does not write the page, earn the source or fix the technical problem behind a lost answer. That work is a separate cost, done by your own team or by an agency.
How do I size the job before I ask for prices?
Write the buyer questions you would want measured and count them. Multiply by the number of assistants you care about and by how often you would ask. That gives the number of answers a month, which you can hold against each pricing page.
